New Album coming on 21st of June : A bath full of Ecstasy, Hot Chip
Fifteen years after their first album Coming On Strong, the British group Hot Chip announce the imminent release of their new album named A Bath Full Of Ecstasy coming on 21.06.2019. This seventh album, recorded between Paris and London, remains joyful and fresh, staying true to the band’s sound. However, it is also a premiere for the British quintet: for the very first time, they decided to collaborate with external artists. For this new experience, Hot Chip chose two artists: Philippe Zdar, the French productor and Rodaidh McDonald, known for his previous collaborations with the XX or Adele, for example.
The group offers us a taste of what’s to come with their new single “Hungry Child”. The release is accompanied by an eight minute video, produced by Saman Kesh. The video is starring the two American TV actors Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub. It’s well-made and captivates till the end. It’s a nice mix between the song and the characters’ story. Have a look!
Concerning the song “Hungry Child” itself, it is a surprising combination of melancholic lyrics and a rhythmic and cheerful instrumental. Be careful though, choose your moment to listen to the song wisely: you might be tempted to move your head in rhythm or even dance on your own. For this reason, if you are working at the office, it might be nice to wait before listening. Or don’t. Just warn your colleagues. And if you need another excuse to dance, the song has been remixed by Paul Woodford, the British DJ. He produced a ten minutes piano house remix of the “Hungry Child”. Let’s dance!
Coming back to the album, the group announced a tracklist of nine refreshing but more intimate songs in comparison to their previous albums. Alexis Taylor, the singer, opens up about his life and his fight for happiness. It remains a joy celebration. Let’s see on the 21st of June!
