”a blend between Bon Iver and… Genesis.” – Stereofox”
“…full of deep synthesizers, soaring drum sand cathederal choir heavenly vocals” – Born Music Online
The artist, songwriter and producer Christoffer Ling has for almost a year now released music under the alias of Pikes. The music is a mixture of 80’s synthesizers, sampled / organic drums and a large orchestral soundscape that comes together in a sound that borders between pop and movie score.
Pikes major influences are Peter Gabriel, Frank Zappa and Kate Bush. Christoffer Ling has also written music for the indie film “Kung Fury“ and mixed an EP for Becky and The Birds.
”People In Cars” is Pikes third EP since his debut 2018 and is out today.
On the EP you can hear influences from genres such as Synth-wave, progressive rock, Psychedelia and synthpop. The EP is designed as a rock opera and there is a vague thematic thread that runs through the 6 separate tracks.
