Tara Beier is a singer songwriter from Canada, currently resident in LA, who mixes indie folk, alternative and pop. The stories she tells, the warmth of her voice and her relaxed and assured delivery lull and draw you in.
Tara’s songs display an honesty and clarity of expression that lifts her far up out of the multitude of country singer-songwriters ploughing similar furrows at the moment. She recorded her album The Hero and the Sage with an assembly of extremely competent Toronto musicians, who provide the perfect backing for her vocal delivery. Highlights of the album are Forever Mine and This Innocence.
It’s relaxing music, perfect for the summer vibe
Tara’s dad was a hairdresser from the Phillipines and her mum a Canadian with a mix of Austrian and Scottish roots and maybe her interesting pedigree contributed to her intially working as a documentary maker, with her film I Met a Man From Burma and her interest in working on Native American issues.
It’s relaxing music, perfect for grilling and hanging by the lake and just as well suited to driving with the miles stretching out before you and the sun shining down.
Tara is making her European debut at the Junction Bar in Berlin on the 26th July- well worth checking out, and it’s definitely music with a summer vibe.
