Omar Souleyman is playing Berlin’s Kesselhaus this coming Friday (May 13th). This is your chance to win a pair of tickets to see the Syrian artist. Having achieved star status after 2013’s Wenu Wenu, he is back on tour promoting Bahdeni Nami.

Omar Souleyman has surrounded himself with Berlin duo Modeselektor

Bahdeni Nami sees the return of traditional Arab instrumentation, omnipresent synths and repetitive club beats which pushed Souleyman into the spotlights three years back. Wenu Wenu‘s success was in part the work of producer Four Tet who had stripped down the noise and turned traditional music into dance floor hits.

This time around, Mr Souleyman surrounded himself with Berlin duo Modeselektor. This here album they produced was released through their Monkeytown label and features Four Tet on the title track. How about you try to get your hands on these free tickets and let yourself be hypnotised by the trance?
