Prince Rama is coming to Berlin. Following the release of their last album to date, Xtreme Now (on Animal Collective’s Carpark/Paw Tracks label) on March 4th, the Larson sisters will be playing the Kantine am Berghain this coming Thursday (May 12th).

Prince Rama embrace energy drinks, fluorescent outfits and Dance Pop

Together guitarist/synth player Ryan Sciaino, Taraka and Nimai Larson have a new thing going on. The self-proclaimed “NOW AGE” outfit has embraced energy drinks, fluorescent outfits and the Dance Pop genre as can be seen in the video for Bahia below. The psych has moved on to something more reminiscent of the 80s than previous recordings but it’s still there.

Working with acclaimed dance producer Alex Epton of XXXChange (Björk, Panda Bear, The Kills), the new songs take on a more confident and infectious feeling than any other Prince Rama record.
